About the Coalition
Collaborative. Expert. Inclusive. Relevant.
The Fraternity & Sorority Coalition Project is designed to advance the fraternity and sorority movement within colleges and universities across North America. Our purpose is to objectively review and communicate the overall health of a fraternity and sorority community.
Who is the Coalition? We are seven trade or governing associations, representing over 150 fraternities and sororities and thousands of campus- and headquarters-based fraternity/sorority professionals. We know the fraternity/sorority experience and put our expertise to work for you and your community.
Association of Fraternity/Sorority Advisors (AFA)
National Association of Latino Fraternal Organizations (NALFO)
National APIA Panhellenic Association (NAPA)
National Panhellenic Conference (NPC)
National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC)
National Multicultural Greek Council (NMGC)
North-American Interfraternity Conference (NIC)*

Why is this service important to our industry? We piloted our process in 2007, and since then over 75 institutions have hosted a visit... public and private, rural and urban, small and large. Clients call upon our service for a variety of reasons, but in the end we endeavor to help better align fraternity/sorority communities with their institutional and fraternal missions. Past clients have called the Project experience "frank," "honest," "insightful," and "comprehensive." There are several ways to can assess the health of a community. Quantitative data only paints a partial picture; without providing professionals with the "how" to overcome challenges or capitalize on opportunities, some services fall short.
Our process is collaborative. Our review includes input from a variety of sources who are involved with, and who can impact the health and viability of the local fraternity/sorority community. We spend time asking questions to learn about the full campus climate to understand the role and impact it has on the fraternity/sorority community. The final report is written by Coalition experts and reviewed by the institution before it is finalized. Fraternity/sorority headquarters, campus administrators, active and alumni/ae members, and volunteers are involved in the process from start to finish, to encourage communication and a shared vision for the future of the community.
Our volunteers are industry experts. Members of our Review Teams are campus-based professionals and senior-level administrators, headquarters executives and staff members, and staff and volunteers representing each Partner group. They are familiar with Partner standards and policies and recommend true best practices. We tailor Review Teams for every visit to ensure the unique needs of each campus are met through the personal and professional backgrounds and skill sets of the volunteers.
